The South Carolina Gamecocks trailed 7-0 early, but scored 52 unanswered points to beat the Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville on Saturday.
The Gamecocks offense piled up 32 first downs to only seven for the Razorbacks. South Carolina had 537 yards of total offense while controlling the football for more than 43 minutes.
South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw completed 19 of 28 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns. Shaw also ran for 37 yards and scored a touchdown.
Bruce Ellington caught six passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns.
The Gamecocks running atttack rolled up 277 yards. Mike Davis led the way with 19 carries for 128 yards and a score. Lake City product Shon Carson rushed 15 times for 56 yards. Carson also caught one pass for 14 yards.
South Carolina All-American defensive end Jadeveon Clowney returned after missing last week's game against Kentucky with bruised ribs. Clowney made one tackle against Arkansas.
Former Darlington High standout Victor Hampton had one interception for South Carolina. He returned the pick 21 yards.
The Gamecocks overall record is now 5-1, 3-1 in the SEC.
South Carolina will be on the road again next Saturday, October 19 when they travel to Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee to play the Volunteers. Kickoff is set for noon EST.
