Gamecocks heading to Chapel Hill for Super Regionals

The South Carolina Gamecocks travel to Chapel Hill to face the North Carolina Tar Heels in the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals. The best two out of three series begins on Friday. The winner advances to the College World Series. The Gamecocks won the Columbia Regional by beating the Liberty Flames 6-4 in a game that was completed on Monday afternoon after being suspended due to weather on Sunday night. North Carolina won a 12-11 13 inning game against Florida Atlantic to win the Chapel Hill Regional. The Tar Heels had a 6-2 lead in the 9th inning, but surrendered 6 runs in the 9th inning. North Carolina answered with two runs in the bottom of the 9th to force extra innings. After giving up a three run homer in the 12th, UNC scored three more to stay alive and finally win it in the 13th on a Cody Stubbs walk-off base hit with the bases loaded.
