Latta High lineman Donell Stanley was formally introduced as a player in the prestigious U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The game will be played on January 4th at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
Stanley will play in two all-star games to close out his high school career. He was also picked to play for South Carolina in the Shrine Bowl. In addition, the 6'5" 335 pounder is a finalist for the South Carolina Mister Football Award.
Stanley played both offense and defense for the Latta Vikings football team. He is rated by most recruiting services as a 4-star. On defense, he had seven sacks with nearly 100 tackles his senior season.
He is one of only 90 players selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The game has showcased big stars like Andrew Luck, Adrian Peterson and Tajh Boyd. Stanley gave a verbal commitment to play for Steve Spurrier and the South Carolina Gamecocks. Stanley says he will finish his high school career in athletics at Latta by playing both basketball and baseball.
