Former Conway High star Jordan Gore hit a walk-off home run in the 14th inning in the 2nd ranked South Carolina Gamecocks 3-2 win over the 20th ranked Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday.
Gore's heroics came after Friday's game against Tennessee was halted because of rain. The score was tied 2-2.
Gore, a freshman, who was hitting .118 entering the day, collected only the third hit of his Gamecocks career. It was his first collegiate home run.
Tanner English, a former St. James High standout, scored the game-tying run on a passed ball in the bottom of the 8th inning on Friday.
In the regularly scheduled game, South Carolina scored six runs in the bottom of the ninth, capped off by a walk-off grand slam by Grayson Greiner to beat Tennessee 9-6.
The Gamecocks are 23-3 overall, and 5-3 in the SEC.
