Gamecocks fall to 1-3 in SEC play.

The Vanderbilt Commodores defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 58-51 in Columbia on Saturday. It was Vandy's first SEC win this season.

Brenton Williams was the leading South Carolina scorer with 16 points. He missed a critical 3-pointer with under two minutes to play in the game that would have given the Gamecocks the lead.

Former Mullins High star Eric Smith was held to just five points. The 2009 WPDE Mister Hoop Zone winner shot 1-for-5 from the field in 28 minutes of playing time.

Kyle Fuller scored 12 points and Dai-Jon Parker 11 as Vanderbilt held on down the stretch to defeat South Carolina 58-51 Saturday for its first Southeastern Conference victory of the season.
