They call him "The Hammer." Bill O'Neill won the Professional Bowlers Association event called the Myrtle Beach South Classic at Waccamaw Lanes on Sunday.
O'Neill, from Langhorne, Pennsylvania, rolled a final game of 254 to pull away from Tommy Jones. O'Neill won the top prize of $2,500 for winning the PBA regional event by 146 pins.
Of note, Jones, from Simpsonville, South Carolina, rolled a perfect 300 game on the final day. But it was not enough to catch up with O'Neill's strong showing over 25 games at the tournament.
There were 74 bowlers in the field. Conway's Adam Monks made it to the final day and finished in 15th place.
