Golson to be honored by city of Myrtle Beach

Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson will be honored by his hometown at the Beach Ball Classic basketball tournament. Golson will be in attendance for a ceremony at halftime of the 7pm game between Spring Valley (SC) and Wheeler (GA) on December 26th at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

Golson was an all-state guard in basketball and played for Myrtle Beach High in the Beach Ball Classic, a week long tournament that brings in top high school programs across the nation. Golson will start for the Fighting Irish in the BCS Championship game on January 6th in Miami against Alabama. As a redshirt freshman in his first season of college football, Golson has guided Notre Dame to a 12-0 record and a #1 national ranking.

Golson won two WPDE Zoneman Trophies in 2008 and 2009 and won two football state championships throwing 151 career TD passes for the Myrtle Beach Seahawks.
