5 Area Football Stars Make College Commitments

South Florence linebacker Mason Edwards will sign with Limestone College on Wednesday.

Five area football players have made verbal commitments to play at Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. Three of them played at Socastee High, the other two at South Florence High.

Socastee All-Zone linebacker Adam Crane, along with All-Zone defensive end Dakota Morgan announced their plans to play at the new Division II school. Defensive back Zack Hyde will also sign a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, Feburary 6, according to Socastee head coach Tim Renfrow.

South Florence All-Zone linebacker Mason Edwards will also play at Limestone. He had 116 tackles and seven sacks his senior season in high school. Linebacker Joey Felder will join Edwards at Limestone, according to South Florence head coach David Prince.

The Limestone Saints will begin playing football in 2014.
