Mon, 19 Mar 2012 17:49:44 GMT — Former Coastal Carolina All-American running back Mike Tolbert has found a new NFL home. The running back has signed a four year contract with the Carolina Panthers. Tolbert had spent his entire four year NFL career with the San Diego Chargers, joining the team as an unrestricted free agent. A long shot to even make the roster, Tolbert became one of the Chargers best blockers and a key part of its special teams unit. He provided over 2400 yards of offense and 26 TD's during his tenure in San Diego. Tolbert began his NFL career at fullback, but transitioned to running back where he shared the carries in San Diego with Ryan Matthews. He played four years at Coastal Carolina from 2004-2007. He is now part of a four running back stable in Carolina joining DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Mike Goodson. ESPN.com: Panthers sign RB Mike Tolbert
