Seattle Seahawks win Super Bowl XLVIII

Seattle beat Denver 43-8 to win Super Bowl 48.

The Seattle Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos 43-8 to win Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson completed 18-of-25 passes for 206 yards and threw two TD passes.

Denver committed four turnovers to none for Seattle. The Broncos lost two fumbles, and Peyton Manning threw a pair of interceptions, one of them was returned 69 yards for a touchdown by linebacker Malcolm Smith, who was named Super Bowl MVP.

Smith made 10 tackles, and is the first player in Super Bowl history with a pick-6 and a fumble recovery in the same game.

Hartsville native Tony McDaniel had one tackle for the Seahawks.

Former Marlboro County High star Robert Ayers, who was born in Clio, had one tackle for the Broncos.

This is the first Super Bowl championship for Seattle.
