Nineteen players went through drills in front of scouts from 26 NFL teams on Tuesday morning on the campus of Coastal Carolina on Palmetto Pro Day.
Michigan wide receiver Junior Hemingway out of Conway High ran some drills and pass routes for the scouts. The Sugar Bowl MVP was content to stand on his excellent combine numbers. However, Hemingway is still waiting for a private workout with an NFL team prior to the draft on April 26.
Coastal Carolina had several players at Pro Day. Defensive back Josh Norman improved his 40 yard dash time. He clocked a 4.57, more than one-tenth of a second faster than his earlier time at the NFL Scouting combine at Indianapolis back in February. Norman has been invited to several additional pre-draft private workouts including sessions with the Cowboys, Patriots, Panthers and Jets. The Cowboys will work out Norman later this week on the CCU campus.
Another former CCU star, Marcus Lott ran a 4.7 forty yard dash. Ex-Chanticleers tight end Jamie Childers was impressive with a 34-in vertical jump and 24 repetitions bench pressing 225 pounds.
Also of note, former West Florence High star Brandon Bostick, who played college ball at Newberry, ran a 4.7 time in the 40. Not extremely slow considering his size. Bostick is 6'4" and weighs 240 pounds. Kevin Hardy from The Citadel ran the fastest 40 time of 4.39 seconds.
