Lamar High standout John Abraham had one sack for the Falcons in a win over the Chargers.

John Abraham, who played at Lamar High, made two tackles, including one sack for the Atlanta Falcons in a 27-3 win over the San Diego Chargers. The former Gamecock also had two QB hits for the undefeated Falcons.

Former Carvers Bay High star Robert Geathers, Jr. made two tackles and one QB hit for the Cincinnati Bengals in a 38-31 victory over the Washington Redskins.

Detroit Lions linebacker Justin Durant out of Wilson High made four tackles, including one for a loss for the Detroit Lions, in a 44-41 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons, who won WPDE's Zoneman Trophy at Wilson High, made three tackles in a 34-31 loss to the Oakland Raiders.

In an NFL Thursday night game, the New York Giants beat the Carolina Panthers 36-7. Former Coastal Carolina fullback Mike Tolbert caught four passes for 47 yards and ran the ball three times for four yards for the Panthers. Also for the Panthers, Ex-CCU defensive back Josh Norman made 11 tackles with one pass defended.
