Lake City's McClam signs with the Detroit Lions

Former Lake City High Panthers football player Edmon McClam has signed a free agent contract with the Detroit Lions, according to his college head coach at Old Dominion, Bobby Wilder.

The 6'6" 280 pound McClam is a native of Coward, South Carolina. Playing defensive tackle at Old Dominion, McClam made 97 tackles with ten sacks during three seasons with the Monarchs. He spent one season at Louisburg College.

McClam owns a single game NCAA record with three blocked PAT's. He did it in 2009 against the Chowan Hawks.
