Former Chants busy in NFL's week 17

For the first time this season, all four former Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in the NFL were active and played in NFL's week 17

The San Diego Chargers fullback caught a 2 yard TD pass from backup QB Billy Zolek in the Bolts 23-20 win over the Washington Redskins. Tolbert and the Chargers finish the regular season 13-3 and have a bye in the opening week of the playoffs

Tyler Thigpen

Thig made his Miami Dolphins debut late in the 3rd quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After Chad Henne left the game with an eye injury and Pat White was knocked out of the game with a concussion, Thigpen engineered two TD drives including a 34 yard TD pass to Davone Bess. Thigpen entered the game down 24-10 an got the Fins within 27-24, but threw an interception in the end zone and one pick at the end of the game. Thigpen was 4-8 for 83 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT's in a 30-24 loss.

Quinton Teal

The former Marlboro County standout had two tackles on special teams and helped down a punt at the one yard line in the Carolina Panthers 23-10 win over the New Orleans Saints. Teal finished his 3rd NFL season with a career high 20 tackles.

Jerome Simpson

For just the second time this season, Simpson was active at wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals. Jerome was on the field, but did not record a catch in the Bengals 37-0 loss to the New York Jets.
