Wilson girls fall to North Augusta in Girls 4A State Basketball Championship

The North Augusta Yellow Jackets defeated the Wilson Tigers 52-34 in the Girls Class AAAA State Championship game at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.

Class AAAA player of the year Amari Young scored 15 points and pulled down 17 rebounds to lead North Augusta.

Wilson pulled within four points of the lead at halftime, but North Augusta pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Wilson (21-3) was led by Loyal McQueen with ten points, and D'Asia Gregg scored nine points and had 12 rebounds.

North Augusta (26-1) has won two straight girls state titles. The Yellow Jackets beat Wilson 61-37 in last year's championship game.
