Former Pelicans help Winston-Salem to 3-2 win over Pelicans

Eloy Jimenez who was involved in a five-player deal between the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox earlier in the day, drove in two runs against his former team in a 3-2 Winston-Salem Dash victory over the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.

The Dash, a Class A affiliate of the White Sox, used the play of two former Pelicans to win the game on Thursday night. Jimenez was 1-for-4 with two RBI. Bryant Flete, also involved in the Cubs-White Sox trade, went 1-for-3 at the plate and scored a run for the Dash.

Myrtle Beach outfielder Eddy Martinez homered in the Birds' loss.

Myrtle Beach (51-39) falls to a record of 8-11 in the second half of the Carolina League season.
