Class AA State Basketball preview: Mullins shooting for back-to-back titles

The Mullins Auctioneers girls basketball team will play the Keenan Raiders for the Class AA State Championship on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.

Mullins is led by top scorer and All-Hoop Zone selection Janell Sindab who is averaging 21.1 points per game.

Mullins head coach Myron Gerald has the Lady Aucs back in the title game despite finishing second in their region.

Following the graduation of Miss Hoop Zone, Brittani McDonald, and All-Hoop Zone performer Serenity Hunt, Mullins managed to win 17 of 19 games this season and return to the state title game.

Along with Sindab, freshman Jenlea Nichols and Za'Kiya Williams have been key players for the Auctioneers during a four game playoff run, including a win over top ranked Marion in the Lower State title game.
