Carolina Forest softball wins big at Ripken Experience

The Carolina Forest Panthers softball team beat Lawrenceville (NJ) 15-7 on Thursday at the Ripken Experience Spring Training tournament in Myrtle Beach.

Trailing 1-0 in the second inning, Desi Santos hit an inside-the-park home run for Carolina Forest to tie the game.

ABC 15 All-Hoop Zone basketball star Ellen Nardella later scored on a wild pitch to give the Panthers the lead for good.

Santos later drove in another run in the third inning on a single, and sophomore Emma Liles followed with another base hit to drive in two more runs during a five run frame.

Carolina Forest is now 3-3 on the season.

Lawrenceville falls to 0-5.

The tournament continues through March 19 at the Ripken Experience.
