Aynor's Caleb Jenerette to sign with Gamecocks
Aynor Blue Jackets football star Caleb Jenerette told ABC 15 that he will sign with the South Carolina Gamecocks as a preferred walk on.
Jenerette made his decision on Thursday, choosing South Carolina over Coastal Carolina.
Jenerette said that the Gamecocks will likely put him at the H-back or tight end position.
The 6'2" 200 pound Jenerette will be the first Aynor High product to play for the Gamecocks since T.J. Johnson, who is now with the Cincinnati Bengals.
He was an ABC 15 All-Zone selection following a productive senior season at Aynor High. He rushed for more than 700 yards, and caught 12 passes for nearly 200 yards, scoring ten touchdowns for the Blue Jackets.
On defense, Jenerette had two interceptions.
He said he plans to study Sports Management at the University of South Carolina.
Caleb Jenerette's uncle is Aynor head football coach Jody Jenerette.
