The Alabama Crimson Tide beat the top seeded Clemson Tigers 24-6 in the Sugar Bowl at the Superdome in New Orleans on New Year's night.

Alabama's defense held Clemson to just 188 yards of offense, registered five sacks, and forced two turnovers.
Former West Florence High standout Alex Spence scored all of Clemson points on field goals of 44 and 42 yards.
Former Socastee High star and Clemson receiver Hunter Renfrow had five catches for 31 yards.
Clemson ended its season with a 12-2 record.
Alabama (12-1) advances to play the Georgia Bulldogs in the national championship game on Jan. 8 in Atlanta.
Georgia beat Oklahoma in double-overtime 54-48 in the Rose Bowl.
