Socastee wins 3A Tennis Championship

      The Socastee boys tennis team won the 3A State Championship on Saturday.

      The Socastee boys tennis team beat Chapin 4-3 to win the Class AAA Tennis Championship on Saturday in Columbia. Tied 3-3, the doubles team of Robert Conley and Kyle Barr won a third set tie-breaker to clinch the title for the Braves. It is the first boys State Tennis Championship for Socastee since 1982.

      Christ Church defeated Waccamaw to take the boys Class AA/A Championship.

      Track and Field Championship

      The Carvers Bay Bears won the boys Class A Track Championship. Carvers Bay's Lewis Morant won the 100 and 200 and Desmond Sumpter won the long jump and triple jump.
