Six area baseball and softball teams playing for titles

Tanner Chock struck out 14 batters on Monday night to put Loris within one victory of a state title.

Loris beat Ninety Six High 2-1 behind 14 strikeouts by pitcher Tanner Chock, and a game winning run scored by Reagan Fowler in game one of the Class AA State Baseball Championship. The win gives the Lions a 1-0 lead in the best of three series. Loris can win the first baseball title in school history with a win at Ninety Six on Wednesday.

The Hartsville Red Foxes baseball team will begin a best of three series for the Class 3A Championship against A.C. Flora. Game one is scheduled for Thursday in Hartsville.

The Latta Vikings baseaball team trails in the Class A Championship one game to none after losing to St. Joseph's 4-0 on Monday. Game two is set for Wednesday in Latta.

The Hartsville softball team is in the Class 3A title series against Union. Hartsville will open the best of three series on the road at Union on Wednesday.

The Dillon softball team is in the Class AA title series against Central. Dillon took game one 6-2. The Lady Wildcats can win the championship at Central on Wednesday.

The East Clarendon softball team is in the Class A title series against Dixie. Dixie leads one game to none. Game two is set for Wednesday at East Clarendon.
