Sharks football to help earthquake victims during bye week

The Saint James Sharks have this weekend off after a 1-2 start to the season, but Mark Fischer's team will be plenty busy during the open week. Fischer is bringing a caravan of football players to his former high school in Louisa County, Virginia to help victims of the August earthquake in Virginia. Fischer spent six seasons as Louisa County's head football coach before coming to Murrells Inlet in 2011. The Sharks left Murrells Inlet on Thursday afternoon and will be guests of the Louisa County football team for their Friday night game. The Sharks will help with cleanup and have collected Lowe's gift cards to present to the community.

Louisa County suffered significant damage from a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in August. You can visit the Saint James Sports Facebook page to see pictures and comments from Louisa County already showing their appreciation for the goodwill trip.
