Sessions 26 not enough, Seahawks lose again at Holiday Invitational

Lady Seahawks lost despite 26 points from Sessions.

The Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans defeated the Myrtle Beach Seahawks 71-60 at the girls Holiday Invitational at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Monday.

Greater Atlanta Christian had five players in double-figures, including Sierra Lawrence with 16. The Lady Spartans displayed more depth than the Lady Seahawks with 19 bench points to just five for Myrtle Beach.

Khadijah Sessions led all scorers with 26 points for Myrtle Beach. She was 7-of-15 from the field and hit 12-of-15 from the free throw line. Tanisha Brown chipped in with 16 points for the Lady Seahawks.

Myrtle Beach is now 0-2 at this year's Holiday Invitational. They lost 71-61 in overtime to Center Point (AL) in a first round game on Friday. The Lady Seahawks record is now 6-2 overall. Their next game at this tournament will be on Wednesday against Goose Creek at 8:15 a.m.

The Holiday Invitational continues through Thursday. The Championship game is scheduled for 2:15 p.m.

On Tuesday night at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, the North Carolina Lady Tar Heels will play the East Carolina Lady Pirates. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
