Northwestern raced out to a 14-0 first quarter lead before Conway got on the board. Mykal Moody's wobbly pass was hauled down by Malcom Green inside the ten setting the stage for a Moody 7 yard TD run to make it a 14-6 game. Northwestern answered right back on a Mason Rudolph short pass to Rontavious McClure that turned into a 22 yard scoring play. Moody shined in the first half against the premiere opponent. He had a highlight reel 44 yard TD run shedding tacklers high and low to make it a 21-12 contest. But Rudolph answered right back with a 22 yard of his own to keep Northwestern in front by two scores at 28-12. Conway mounted one more threat late in the first half. Moody threw a high pass that was hauled down by Sawyer Jordan at the one yard line. On the next play, Moody lost the handle and fumbled the ball in the end zone. Taking over at the 20, Northwestern's LaThomas Long raced 80 yards to put the game away. Northwestern led 34-12 at the half and cruised to a 55-19 victory. Northwestern is now 2-0 with wins over Gaffney and the Tigers while Chuck Jordan's squad is now 1-1.
