2012 North Myrtle Beach Chiefs
2011 Record: 0-10
Offense: 8.9 ppg (32nd
in Zone Nation)
Defense: 33.0 ppg (30th in Zone Nation)
Returning Starters - Offense: 9 Defense: 8
The Chiefs are trying to break a 22-game losing streak. With nine starters back on offense and eight back on defense, North Myrtle Beach is likely to end the skid during their non-region schedule. The Chiefs need to find a way to get the ball in the hands of Eric Baker on offense. He doubles as one of the area's top cover corners. Delonzo Williams will be the offensive workhorse on a program that has nowhere to go but up.
I can see the Chiefs getting two or even three wins before heading into region play. The next step for Perry Woolbright's team is to pull of an upset in league action. I enjoyed spending time with Eric Baker in Hags Film Lab. It takes a special kind of guy to play for the military academies and Baker fits the mold. On a NMB alumni front, I'll be rooting for Ryan Quigley to stick on the Chicago Bears roster. A three time WPDE All-Zone selection and four year starter at Boston College, it would be fun to have our first All-Zone kicker/punter to make it to the NFL
