      Myrtle Beach girls win 2nd straight 3A hoops title

      The Myrtle Beach Lady Seahawks routed Greenville 60-38 to win the Girls Class 3A Basketball Championship in Columbia on Saturday. It is the Seahawks second straight title. Two-time WPDE Miss Hoop Zone Khadijah Sessions led Myrtle Beach with 21 points.

      Myrtle Beach got out to a nine point haltime lead and finished it off in the second half with a 22 point blowout victory. Two WPDE All-Hoop Zone selections also made it into double figures. Shatia Cole scored 11 and D.J. Hunter added 10 for the Seahawks who end the season with a 25-5 record. Greenwood ended the season with a 21-7 record.
