Myrtle Beach boys blank Saint James

Mason Lewis had three goals and Myrtle Beach cruised to a 5-0 win over Saint James on Wednesday night. It was the first game played at the new Ashley Booth field, installed with new turf similar to the surface at Doug Shaw Stadium. Myrtle Beach improves to 13-2, 5-0 in region play. The Seahawks are ranked #1 in the latest class 3A boys soccer poll and are ranked #41 in the national polls.

In the girls matchup, Saint James and Myrtle Beach played to a 1-1 tie through regulation and two five minute overtime periods. After a miss by the Seahawks, Julia Carriker delivered the game winning penalty kick to give the Sharks a 5-4 victory.
