Marlboro County's Raheem Ward won an HTC Game Ball for his outstanding performance on both sides of the ball in Marlboro County's 27-6 win over Dillon.
This Friday night, the Region 6/3A opener features one of the biggest games in the state for Week Six. Hartsville plays host to Marlboro County at Kelleytown Stadium. The Red Foxes are defending 3A state champs and currently ride a 20 game win streak. Last year, the Foxes beat Marlboro County 34-14.
Hartsville is led by Brian Rivers who is currently fourth in the Zone Nation with 808 rushing yards and leads the area with 12 TD runs. The Hartsville defense is averaging less than 3 points a game, tops in the Zone Nation. But Jeff Calabrese points out that Marlboro County has played a much tougher schedule with games against Scotland County and Dillon. The winner of this game will take early control of the Region 6/3A race.
WPDE's End Zone will have full game highlights and post-game reaction of Marlboro County and Hartsville. It will kick off our week six coverage. We've got 60 minutes of high school football on the way on Friday night at 11:20 pm in WPDE's End Zone.
