Loris Lions football program looking forward to the fall

Loris RB Levi Moody ran for 17 touchdowns last season.

The Loris Lions football program is finishing up spring football workouts. The goal this fall for the Lions is to finally unseat Dillon as the top team in their region. Dillon is the defending Class AA Division I State Champion.

Loris head coach Jamie Snider is 26-8 lifetime as sideline boss of the Lions. He says he is happy with what Loris has accomplished, but he and his players want more, "Execution and consistancy, I think that's what it comes down to. You have to be consistant week in and week out, we've had some pretty good success, but I think we can do better."

Loris finished with a 9-3 record last season, and made it to the third round of the state playoffs. The Lions only losses last year were to Class AAA North Myrtle Beach, Dillon and Timberland.

Levi Moody is the Lions top returning offensive star. He ran for 992 yards and scored 17 TD's last season for the blue and gold.

Loris was ranked fifth in the area in defense and second in Region 8 Class AA in offense, behind Dillon.

Loris will have to replace departed defensive stars Ryan Bellamy, Quavon Bellamy and Malik Vereen on defense. Linebacker Charoldric Williams is the Lions top returning defender. He made 94 tackles last season.
