Tue, 14 Aug 2012 23:21:53 GMT — Latta Vikings 2011 Record: 2-8 Offense: 11.4 ppg (29th in Zone Nation) Defense: 33.8 ppg (31st) Returning Starters: Offense 7 Defense 6 Hags Thoughts Latta looks to improve on a 2-8 season from a year ago. Vikings QB Kel Williamson has an accurate arm. He's expected to air it out more with Brandon Moultrie and Josh McGirt on the other end of his throws. High profile lineman Donell Stanley and newcomer TE/DE Neil Melvin will provide muscle up front. The defense has six returning starters and should improve from last year's team that gave up nearly 34 points a game. Look for Latta to be a strong contender in Region 8-1A. Rich's Thoughts Donell Stanley is the model for how to handle an enormous amount of recruiting attention. This young man stays humble, and appreciative of the long list of schools that are looking at him. He says he wants to get as many schools to come watch him play on Friday night's so some of his teammates can draw college interest. It would not be shocking at all to see the Vikings go from two wins to the six or seven victory range in 2012.
