Lamar Silver Foxes

Defense: 17.92 ppg (11th)
Returning Starters: Offense 3 Defense 4
Lamar is coming off a losing season for the first time in 17 years. This year's team has more experienced and should bounce back nicely behind budding star Quan Brown who quietly threw for 1,310 yards and 10 TD's as a freshman. The Silver Foxes return 12 of 21 starters. All-Zone LB/WR Akeem Peoples returns for his senior season. Lamar has the weapons to challenge for the region title as they enter the newly realigned 3-1A with C.A. Johnson, McBee, Great Falls and Lewisville.
I think it is a very safe bet that Lamar will be back to their winning ways sooner rather than later. Quan Brown is on my radar for All-Zone - he did some great things as a freshman and I love both Peoples, Akeem and Demetrius. With LaBradford Abson, you have the normal balance of run and throw options for the Lamar offense. It's an absolute shame that the Silver Foxes get shipped to the Upper State region. It's not right. Lamar is a Pee Dee team and should be playing Pee Dee rivals. That being said, maybe we'll see a local vs. local state championship on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
