Lamar High retires Marshall McFadden's number

Marshall McFadden played on three state championship teams at Lamar High.

Oakland Raiders linebacker Marshall McFadden returned to his high school on Tuesday night. Lamar retired his jersey and hung a replica of his number 80 in the rafters of the high school gym.

McFadden played on three Class A State Championship teams under head coach J.R. Boyd. He was a 2004 WPDE All-Zone selection and went on to win defensive MVP in the North-South All-Star game.

McFadden was a leader on the Silver Foxes "Black Nasty" defense, that allowed only three touchdowns in 15 games during his senior season.

He played college football at South Carolina State where he played on three straight MEAC Champship teams.

The 6'1" 233 pound McFadden was an undrafted free agent in 2011. He was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers where he played in one game in 2012 and made one tackle.

In September 2013, he was signed by the Oakland Raiders. He finished last season with two tackles in four games. McFadden is currently on the Raiders 53 man roster.
