Tanneyhill Delivers in Upstate

Former Gamecocks quarterback Steve Tanneyhill won three consecutive state championships at Chesterfield High (2007-2009). He's in his first season at Union and has brought the Yellowjackets to the state championship game. Playing a tough schedule, Union went 5-5 in the regular season, but has won four straight road games in the post-season to reach Columbia

The Three Headed Monster

It's a rarity to have three individual 1,000 yard rushers, but Hartsville has that. The trio has combined for 4,591 yards and 57 TD's

Trey Samuel: 149 carries, 1987 yards, 20 TD's

Tre Rogers: 169 carries, 1415 yards, 19 TD's

Dominic Robinson: 121 yards, 1189 yards, 18 TD's

Mr. TD Catch

With so much attention on the run game, when Hartsville does throw it, it's usally effective. That's in large part due to Trey Gattison who has 39 catches for 795 yards and 16 TD catches. That means Gattison catches a touchdown 41 percent of the time.

Hartsville Notes

The Red Foxes have been playing inspired football in memory of Ronald Rouse, the defensive lineman who collapsed and died during Hartsville's homecoming game against Crestwood. Click here for Rich's Blog on Ronald Rouse and WPDE's coverage

Jeff Calabrese is coaching his second state championship game. In 2003, he took West Florence to the state championship game losing to Greer 33-17
