Grayson Allen wins slam dunk contest at Beach Ball

Duke signee Grayson Allen of Providence High won the slam dunk contest and Koel Cutler of Socastee won the 3-point contest at Beach Ball.

Socastee High senior Koel Cutler beat Mullins freshman Jalek Felton in the finals of the 3-point contest at the Beach Ball Classic on Saturday night at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Cutler beat Felton 15-14 in the finals.

In the slam dunk contest, Providence High (FL) 6'5" senior Grayson Allen jumped over four teammates on a spectacular throw down to beat Derek McKeithen of Northland (OH) in a dunk off. Both players had perfect scores going into the dunk off. Allen, who wore a Duke jersey, brought the house down with a tomahawk slam.

Allen has signed to play college basketball at Duke. He will play in the Beach Ball Classic semi-finals on Monday night at 8:45 p.m. when Providence faces Bishop Loughlin (NY).
