Golson, Hampton make AP All-State team

Two WPDE All-Zone selections were named to the AP's all state high school football team. Myrtle Beach QB Everett Golson and Darlington DB Victor Hampton were on the list.

QB - Everett Golson, jr, Myrtle Beach, threw for 3,558 yards, 47 TDs.

RB - Marcus Lattimore, sr, Byrnes, two-time all- state pick, SC's "Mr. Football."

RB - Mustafa Greene, sr, Irmo, ran for 1,367 yards, 13 TDs,Shrine Bowl pick.

WR - Robert Joseph, jr, Northwestern, caught 150 passes for 1,843 yards, 20 TDs.

WR - Martavis Bryant, sr, T.L. Hanna, 70 catches, 10 TDs, Shrine Bowl player.

TE - Kegan Funderburk, sr, Pageland Central, 21 catches, 8 TDs for state title runnersup.

OL - Brandon Shell, jr, Goose Creek, nephew of NFL great Art Shell, 94 knockdown blocks.

OL - Jake Morris, sr, Dorman, North-South pick, anchored state champs O-line.

OL- A.J. Cann, sr, Bamberg-Ehrhardt, Shrine Bowl selection.

OL - Eric Mack, sr, Calhoun County, picked for North-South game

OL - Logan Stewart, sr, Boiling Springs, Shrine Bowl selection

K - Josh Hall, sr, Fort Dorchester, made 14 of 16 FGs, 22 of 25 PATs.

All-purpose - Bruce Ellington, sr, Berkeley, ran for 2,191 yards, 33 TDs for state title team.



DL - Kelcy Quarles, sr, Greenwood, Shrine Bowl pick, had 77 tackles, 7 sacks.

DL - Jadeveon Clowney, jr, South Pointe, had 162 tackles, including 23 sacks.

DL - Brandon Willis, sr, Byrnes, had 127 tackles, 12 sacks.

DL - Corey Miller, sr, Byrnes, had 134 tackles, 16 sacks.

LB - Justin Parker, sr, Beaufort, had 127 tackles, Shrine Bowl pick

LB - Malcolm Howard, sr, Goose Creek, Shrine Bowl defensive S.C. MVP.

LB - Brandon Golson, sr, Calhoun County, had 30 sacks, 94 tackles, 4 forced fumbles.
