Fountain Named Head Football Coach at Lamar High School

(Lamar) â?? Lamar High School has named Coach Corey Fountain as the new head coach of the Lamar High School Silver Foxesâ?? varsity football program. Fountain, an alumnus of the school and football team, has served as assistant coach of the program under former coach J.R. Boyd for the past two years. Fountain also teaches computer applications at the school.

A nine-year teaching veteran, Fountain holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from North Greenville College and a Masters of Education in Administration from Grand Canyon University. During his own football career, Fountain was a four-year letterman in football and baseball. He won the Don Hansenâ??s Football Gazette Pre-Season Honorable Mention All-American Quarterback in 2000 and was named an Academic All-American in both baseball and football.

During his coaching tenure, Fountain was a wide-receiver coach at North Greenville College; the wide receiver and defensive back coach, as well as the assistant baseball coach at Laurens District 55 High School; the assistant football coach (offensive lineman) at Hillcrest High School; and the assistant football coach at Lamar High School (offensive coordinator, quarterbacks, running backs and secondary).
