Felton's nephew ready to make impact at Mullins

Raymond Felton didn't get his name on the national radar until he arrived at the Beach Ball Classic and helped Latta engineer an upset over national power DeMatha. Felton would go on to the University of North Carolina and the NBA as a lottery pick. His nephew wants to follow the same exact path.

Jalek Hamilton grew up in Charlotte and has now moved in with Raymond's parents, Barbara and Ray, Senior in Mullins. The 6'2" point guard is expected to start as an 8th grader for the Mullins Auctioneers this winter. By the time he starts his high school career, he expects to have his name legally changed to Jalek Felton. Raymond Felton, Sr. says that Jalek is athletically ahead of Raymond as a rising 8th grader.

Jalek has been playing on Team Felton in the AAU ranks, a team sponsored by his uncle. Hamilton has been a high profile player and works with Raymond whenever he can. The New York Knicks point guard is hoping that Hamilton stays hungry as he gets national attention so early in his basketball career.
