Dillon's Anthony Blue inks with Newberry

Two time WPDE All-Zone running back Anthony Blue of Dillon has signed a national letter of intent to play Division II football at Newberry. Blue signed at Dillon High on Friday, two days after National Signing Day.

Blue will make the transition from running back to defensive back in college. He was a DB in the North-South All-Star game in Myrtle Beach. His high school career is highlighted by back to back state championships in his junior and senior year as the Wildcats primary running option. Blue ran for 1666 yards and 25 TD's on the ground for Dillon in 2013 averaging 8.9 yards a carry.

Two days earlier, two of his teammates signed national letters of intent. Anthony's cousin, Joe Blue, signed to play for Steve Spurrier and the South Carolina Gamecocks. Linebacker Damu Ford inked to play FCS football for Buddy Pough and the South Carolina State Bulldogs.
