Carolina Forest wins Mingo Bay Classic

Carolina Forest won the Class A division of the Mingo Bay Classic.

The Carolina Forest Panthers beat the Georgetown Bulldogs 6-2 to win the Mingo Bay Classic Class-A championship division on Friday.

Carolina Forest scored four runs in the first inning. Ryan Flynn singled to drive in two runs. Stephen Sanpollo followed with an RBI single during the Panthers first frame.

Panthers starting pitcher Aiden Stewart got the win. He tossed five innings of shutout ball, allowing just two hits.

Carolina Forest had a perfect 5-0 record at the Mingo Bay Classic, which attracted 73 teams from all over the nation.

Georgetown finished the tournament with a 4-1 record.
