Arbor One SCISA Spotlight - David Long

The Arbor One SCISA Spotlight and the Cliff Ellis Show cross paths this week as former Chanticleers player David Long has made the transition from player to coach. Long played at Coastal from 2004-2007. The walk-on became a key part of the CCU rotation in his senior season, highlighted by a 12 point performance in a win over Charleston Southern.

After spending two years under coach Cliff Ellis as a graduate assistant, Long got his first head coaching opportunity in Pawleys Island. The Lowcountry Prep Lady Marlins are two time defending class 1A SCISA state champions and feature WPDE SCISA player of the year Rachael Exum. This year, the Lady Marlins are currently ranked 2nd in the state as Long has made a smooth transition with the championship team. The players are impressed with Long's enthusiasm and knowledge of the game.

The Cliff Ellis Show airs Sundays at noon on WPDE and features highlights and analysis from coach Cliff Ellis of the week in CCU basketball along with features and a scouting report of upcoming opponents. The Arbor One SCISA Spotlight airs every Friday night at 6pm and 7pm on NewsChannel 15.
