Conway, SC - The Tigers missed the playoffs last season for the first time since 1999. They managed to win just two games, in a season in which they surrendered nearly 30 points per game.
The focus during the off-season was on defense. Head Coach Chuck Jordan made it a point to correct the issues, hoping players like Juwon Jones would help the cause. Jones had a season high 68 tackles in 2013. Up front, Jabriel Pugh will be the stop plug at nose tackle. The big senior will focus on stopping the run.
Bryan Edwards, a receiver with offers from Clemson and South Carolina, will be a big target for quarterback Peyton Derrick. Offensive tackle Landan Jones will help protect Derrick and create running room for a host of backs.
The Tigers lost their first game of the season to Georgetown, but have nine more games to make 2014 a special season. They'll host Hoggard Friday as part of the Carolinas Kickoff Clash.
