PGA Professional National Championship begins on Sunday in Myrtle Beach

At a golf tournament in Myrtle Beach, 20 players will earn spots at the PGA Championship.

The PGA Professional National Championship will begin on Sunday at both The Dunes Golf and Beach Club and Grande Dunes Resort Club in Myrtle Beach. $550,000 in prize money is up for grabs, and the chance to play in golf's final major tournament of the season.

The top 20 finishers will earn a spot in the 2014 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky in August.

More than 4,000 PGA Professionals attempted to qualify from 41 PGA Sections. 312 players survived to play at the four-day event in Myrtle Beach.

The first two rounds will be played at both The Dunes Club and Grande Dunes. Following second round play on Monday, the field will be cut to the low 90 and ties. A cut will be made after 54 holes to the low 70 and ties for the final round. The final 36 holes will be played at The Dunes Club.
