Woolbright leaving NMB football program

The Chiefs were 14-28 in four seasons under Perry Woolbright.

Chiefs Head Football Coach Perry Woolbright told his team this morning that he is leaving North Myrtle Beach High. Woolbright has taken the head coaching job at Batesburg-Leesville.

Woolbright was the head coach at North Myrtle Beach for four seasons. After going 0-20 his first two campaigns, the Chiefs had 5-5 and 9-3 records to finish the Woolbright era at North Myrtle Beach High.

North Myrtle Beach Athletic Director Joe Quigley said a search is already underway to find a new head coach for the Chiefs football team. Assistant coaches Steve Campbell, Ross Grall, and Jack Mundy are leading spring workouts until the school finds a new field boss.

As for Woolbright's departure, Quigley said, "It is a better financial opportunity for Perry."
