The Wilson Tigers enter the 2014 football season with high hopes after finishing with a 2-8 record last year. Chad Eaddy enters his second year as head coach, "The kids have pushed themselves, put on a lot of muscle, a lot of speed, so we're excited about the season getting started."
James "Turtle" Richardson takes over at starting quarterback, "I'm a pocket passer, but if I have to run, I will run."
WPDE All-Zoner Ga'Quan Maize has graduated. The new feature running back at Wilson is Daleon James, a physical runner, who played in six games last season. James was also a big contributor at middle linebacker with 55 tackles.
Wide receiver Christian Bruce will be Richardson's main target. Bruce says he has college offers from both N.C. State and Charlotte. Last season, he had 45 receptions for 653 yards and five scores.
On defense, Wilson will rely heavily on junior linebacker/defensive end Fronishae Wilson, and senior linebacker VonTray Lawson.
Wilson will open the 2014 season at Timmonsville on August 22nd.
