The West Florence Knights are loaded with experience entering the 2014 high school football season. Eight starters return on offense, eight are back on defense.
Quarterback Marquane Goodman leads this senior laiden squad. Goodman had an excellent series of passing league performances in the off season. Last year, he threw for 1,065 yards, and rushed for 554 yards.
Xavier Blow and Romel Hatcher lead a strong receiving corps for the Knights.
The running attack will be solid with plenty of muscle in the trenches, led by left tackle Rashaad Daniels. In the backfield, Dexter Fulmore will look to build on his strong junior season, after rushing for 1,067 yards and 13 touchdowns.
On defense, the Knights are led by Dorian Gerald who had nine sacks last season from his defensive end position.
Jaylen Pinckney and Matthew Thomas are hard hitting, ball hawking defensive backs. The two combined for 146 tackles last season. Pinckney had four sacks last season, and Thomas made three intercepions.
West Florence finished last season with a 6-6 record. The Knights will open the season at Florence Memorial Stadium on August 29th against Camden.
