      Rich's Take

The Wildcat has become a staple in college football and the NFL so it's no surprise that we are going to see a version of it with Waccamaw. The Warriors Jalen Simmons is the kind of guy you want to the have the ball in his hands as much as possible. It will be interesting to see if Waccamaw has a traditional formation or if they will base the offense entirely around the Wildcat package. Waccamaw has a four game stretch against 1A schools (including three straight home games against Creek Bridge, Hannah-Pamplico and Timmonsville) that will be a chance to get some momentum heading into region play.

      Worth Another Watch

Waccamaw continues its dominance in sports across the board. Sure, football and basketball get a lot of the air time on TV, but when it comes to overall athletic excellence, the Warriors have set a standard that is hard to match. Waccamaw won WPDE's Zone Cup, awarded to the top overall high school in varsity sports, for the sixth time in eight years with a record setting 700 points. Points are awarded based on post-season success in every varsity sport. Click HERE to see the Waccamaw dominance and learn more about the Zone Cup.
