      Rich's Take

With so many key pieces gone, I'm not going to act like I have my finger on the pulse of the 2013 Whirlwinds. They have one proven commodity back in Tyquez Young. I expect to see him as the featured running back and a guy who can be near the top of the interception list on the WPDE Stat Zone. Beyond that, it's going to be a wait and see what the Whirlwinds bring to the table. Coach Tate teams have the reputation of getting better week by week and peaking in late October and November.

      Worth Another Watch

Logistics are a big part of invites to the WPDE End Zone Studio. After all, our Conway studios are a long distance from a lot of our Pee Dee friends and with games ending near 10:00 pm, it becomes a time crunch. Fortunately, the Timmonsville Whirlwinds were just close enough to our studio in Hemingway and earned a rare trip to the studio with a 28-21 win over Hemingway. The kids enjoyed their visit and they certainly earned it.
