Thursday Night Football: South Florence crushes Crestwood

Bruins improve to 5-0 with Thursday night win over Crestwood.

The South Florence Bruins football team improved their record to 5-0 with a 54-7 victory over the Crestwood Knights.

Crestwood took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. South Florence responded for 54 unanswered points in the lop-sided affair.

South Florence quarterback Nick Jones threw a pair of first quarter TD passes. One to Tyquan Johnson and another to Tabari Hines. The Bruins would never trail after those two scores.

South Florence took a 27-7 halftime lead. They scored 27 more in the third quarter, including a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown by junior linebacker Karon Evans.

Jones finished with four TD passes against Crestwood. He has thrown 15 TD passes this season, most in the area. He also leads the area with 1,039 passing yards.

The Bruins will host Ridge View on October 3rd.
