Tue, 01 Apr 2014 03:22:16 GMT —
Robby Brown has been named the interim head coach at Saint James High. Brown returns to the sidelines after leaving Conway High following the 2012 football season. He has experience in the interim head coach role. In 2004, when Doc Davis was deployed to Iraq with the SC National Guard, Brown led the Carolina Forest High to a nine win season and a trip to the 3A quarterfinals. Following his season as interim head coach, he was the offensive coordinator under Chuck Jordan at Conway from 2005-2011. He was an assistant with Saint James in 2012, before focusing on teaching at the Murrells Inlet school.
Brown replaces Mark Fischer, who resigned to return to Louisa County, Virginia. â??We did not have to look very far to find the right person for this position," Saint James athletic director Paula Lee said in a press release. "Coach Brown came highly recommended by the staff and assistant coaches. He is a very positive role model; a great family man with a great deal of integrity and character, a terrific classroom teacher, and has a wealth of knowledge with a successful background of football coaching experience at various levels. Mr. Brown has been an offensive and defensive coordinator, offensive line coach, and has extensive experience as a weight training instructor. He has all the attributes to be a successful leader and coach at St. James High. We are ecstatic to have him as the Sharks Interim Head Football Coach.â??
